Sainthood – Have Faith!

Award-winning filmmaker Bisong Taiwo invites Xbox players to explore a unique kind of strategy game with the launch of Sainthood, now available on Xbox. This cozy, Catholic-themed strategy game mixes spirituality with African folklore and places players in the role of a nun stranded on an enigmatic island. With just 33 days to grow her faith and serve her community, Sainthood challenges players to balance time management and acts of kindness in a refreshing, non-violent take on the strategy genre.

A Unique Journey of Service and Spirituality

In Sainthood, players will explore a charming, miniature-style island grid while helping their community, gathering sacred items, and discovering the island’s many mysteries. The game shifts through beautiful seasons and day/night cycles, inviting players to interact with custodians like the Prioress and gain insight into Kongo culture, the stories of saints, and the spiritual lessons woven throughout African history. Taiwo’s approach to the story reflects a genuine desire to craft a positive, inclusive experience that encourages kindness and charity over conquest.

Engage in a Cozy but Challenging Experience

The journey in Sainthood is about finding balance. By day, players can volunteer at the hospital, deliver packages, or uncover artifacts that aid the island’s residents. However, the peace is challenged when night falls, as mysterious Shetani spirits emerge, threatening to sap Faith. Players will rely on their resolve and spiritual dedication to complete meaningful missions, assisted by angelic spirits known as ‘Ehi’ who offer boosts and support with upgrades.

This refreshing gameplay offers a blend of strategy and serenity, suited for Xbox players seeking a cozy experience with rich, narrative-driven content. Taiwo explains his inspiration: “Sainthood is a labor of love. We wanted to create a game where players focus on serving others, which feels rare in gaming today.”
