I thought popularity was for high schools, celebrities and politicians, but it turns out that websites strive to be popular too. My SEO training has opened my eyes to many interesting things that it encourages me to delve even deeper into this dark art where users wear a either a clean white hat or evil black hat.
Did you know that ‘meta keywords’ have not been used by Google for years? Or that in April last year Google released ‘Google Panda’ that is an algorithm based on how real people would rank a site.
What interested me is they fact that SEO and PR are beginning to overlap… Link building is an art and not a slog as I previously thought… It’s not just about the amount of links you have but the quality of those links and ultimately how popular those sites are…
It’s all a popularity contest so I best don my best suit and hit the smoozing trail…
