Virtual reality is about to get a lot more competitive as Gamitronics and Evolution Publishing prepare to launch Darts VR2: Bullseye across major VR platforms. The sequel to 2017’s well-received Darts VR promises to blend realistic physics with arcade-style gameplay, targeting both seasoned dart throwers and newcomers to the sport.

The game will feature several modes beyond the traditional 501 format, including a zombie survival mode that puts players under pressure as they fend off undead attackers with well-placed throws. Other modes include Killstreak, where the dartboard responds dynamically to successive hits, and an enhanced version of Around the World that apparently offers more than the standard number sequence challenge.

Gamitronics has focused heavily on making the darts feel authentic, with what they describe as a “finely tuned physics engine” designed to replicate real dart behaviour. The experience includes AI-powered commentary to provide feedback on performance, along with customisation options for darts, gloves, and accessories to personalise each player’s appearance.

The game will support online leaderboards for global competition and includes multiple achievement levels for dedicated players to unlock. Darts VR2: Bullseye is set to launch on Meta Quest 2, Quest 3/3S, PlayStation VR 2, and PC VR headsets through Steam, though no specific release date has been announced yet.
