Koshmar: The Last Reverie – Gothic Nightmare Adventure

Polish indie developer Purple Ray Studio has unveiled Koshmar: The Last Reverie, a dark narrative-driven action game that plunges players into a gothic city gripped by a supernatural sleeping plague. Set to arrive on Steam, the game promises a haunting journey through dreams and nightmares in the decaying metropolis of Radwan.

Players step into the boots of Violet, a mortician’s daughter who exists on the boundary between the waking world and the realm of dreams. When a mysterious plague sends the entire city into an unnatural slumber, nightmares begin manifesting in reality, forcing Violet to venture into unknown territories to uncover the truth behind the outbreak.

The game features a dynamic sanity system that responds to player choices, visually and psychologically transforming Violet based on decisions made throughout the adventure. Combat revolves around harnessing dream and nightmare powers through distinct skill trees, whilst nightmare rifts scattered across the city offer procedurally generated challenges that serve as gateways into afflicted minds.

Exploration takes players through diverse districts of Radwan, from blue-collar outskirts to dieselpunk industrial zones, each uniquely affected by the spreading plague. The vertical traversal system allows movement across rooftops, through alleyways, and into hidden underbellies as players work to seal rifts, awaken citizens, and prepare for deeper horrors.
