Nightscape – New Narrative Trailer

Mezan Studios has released a new narrative trailer for Nightscape, its upcoming atmospheric 2.5D adventure game inspired by Arabian astronomy. The trailer offers a closer look at the game’s dialogue and drops some early hints at the story players can expect when the title launches on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox later this year.

In Nightscape, players take on the role of Layla, a young stargazer who has inherited her father’s deep love of astronomy. The game is set in an ancient Arabian land thrown into chaos following a catastrophic event known as the Starfall, during which Arabic constellations fell from the sky, the world forgot their names, and darkness spread across the land. Layla’s father went missing during this event, and it falls to the player to unravel the mystery, restore the stars, and bring him home.

Accompanying Layla on her journey is a Goat Kid companion, and together they must use wit, courage, and a knowledge of constellation powers to set things right. Those powers are at the heart of the gameplay, allowing players to manipulate the elements in meaningful ways. Calling on the wind or summoning rain, for example, can alter the environment and open up solutions to the game’s puzzles, giving the mechanics a direct tie to the astronomical themes running through the story.

Nightscape is being developed by Mezan Studios, a small but ambitious team based in Doha, Qatar. The studio describes itself as both a platform and a voice for aspiring game developers from the MENA region, and Nightscape appears to be a strong expression of that mission, drawing on Arabic cultural heritage to build something that feels distinct in a crowded market.
