Nivalis Nights / Cyberpunk Life Sim

After five years of anticipation, the cyberpunk life sim Nivalis Nights finally has a firm release date. Publisher 505 Games and independent developer ION LANDS have confirmed that the game will launch on PC via Steam on 29th September 2026, with an Epic Games Store release to follow at a later, as yet unspecified date. Formerly known simply as Nivalis, the game represents the next major project from ION LANDS, the studio behind the beloved Cloudpunk.

Nivalis Nights is set in the same neon-drenched, rain-soaked city that Cloudpunk fans will recognise, and it blends the cosy, laid-back appeal of life simulation games with a deeper cyberpunk setting. Players take on the role of Ava, building a life from scratch in the sprawling coastal city of Nivalis. That might mean starting out with a humble noodle stand and growing it into a thriving restaurant or nightclub empire, or it might mean spending time fishing, decorating a home high above the clouds, and getting to know the city’s colourful residents. The game positions itself as a slice-of-life experience with plenty of room for players to carve out their own path.

Exploration is a key part of what Nivalis Nights is offering. Players can move through the city on foot or by boat, uncovering hidden alleyways, waterfront districts, and lively public spaces as they go. Business management adds another layer to proceedings, with players able to source ingredients from local markets or by growing and fishing for their own supplies. Alongside the commercial side of things, there are friendships to forge, stories to hear from the city’s eclectic cast of characters, and even the possibility of romance.

Speaking about the release date announcement, Creative Director Marko Dieckmann acknowledged the long road it took to get here. “As an independent studio, developing this game meant overcoming hurdles we have never faced before,” he said, “and we are incredibly grateful to our community for their patience over the last five years.” 505 Games President Neil Ralley echoed that sentiment, expressing enthusiasm for what players will find when they finally arrive in Nivalis. The partnership between the two companies has clearly been a significant factor in bringing the project to completion.
