Blades of Fire Version 2.0

Dark fantasy action-adventure game Blades of Fire has officially arrived on Steam today, bringing with it the substantial Version 2.0 update that’s packed with new content and features. Developed by MercurySteam and published by 505 Games, the Steam release comes with a 25% launch discount, whilst existing players on other platforms can grab the update for free.

Players step into the boots of Aran de Lira, the last warrior capable of forging true steel in a world where metal mysteriously turns to stone. The game emphasises strategic combat over button mashing, requiring players to carefully observe enemies and strike at precisely the right moment. Every weapon forge matters too, as there are no second chances when crafting your arsenal.

Version 2.0 introduces some meaty additions including New Game Plus mode, which lets players restart Aran’s journey whilst keeping most progression and stats. For those seeking even greater punishment, the new Titanium Difficulty cranks up enemy health and damage by 20%, with rebalanced bosses featuring stricter timing mechanics. The Anvil Trials mode allows players to rechallenge story bosses in time-limited combat scenarios for rewards.

Steam players also benefit from full Steam Deck support, complete controller remapping, and the inclusion of the Adventurer Pack, artbook, and Óscar Araujo’s award-winning soundtrack.
