Skatesterre: New Arcade Skateboarding Game Announced for Summer 2026 Release

Goon Squad and Headup have unveiled Skatesterre, a fast-paced arcade skateboarding game that pays homage to the golden era of skating titles. The announcement came during tonight’s Future Game Show, revealing a summer 2026 release window for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Players will take control of Dutch skateboarding icon Sterre Meijer, known in the skating world as Surfsterre, as they navigate sprawling urban environments filled with rails, ramps, gaps, and secret lines waiting to be discovered. The game focuses on chaining together massive combos and landing stylish tricks whilst chasing the perfect high score run.

Skatesterre promises diverse levels designed for both experimentation and mastery, encouraging players to explore every corner of its skateable playgrounds. The experience is backed by a high-energy soundtrack featuring underground skate punk and skate rock tracks that capture the spirit of late-90s and early-2000s skate culture.

The game will feature mission-based objectives across multiple levels, tons of tricks to master and combine, unlockable fashion items and outfits, and large environments packed with skateable elements and hidden secrets. For skating game enthusiasts, this looks set to scratch that classic arcade skateboarding itch when it arrives later this summer.
