NCSOFT and developer Mistil Games have launched the closed beta test for Time Takers, their upcoming survival shooter where time itself becomes the ultimate resource. Running from 13th March to 21st March, the test gives players across North and South America their first chance to experience the game’s unique time-manipulation mechanics through Steam.

Unlike traditional shooters, Time Takers uses “Time Energy” as your character’s lifespan, forcing players to make crucial split-second decisions about how to spend their remaining moments. You can upgrade abilities mid-match, share your time with struggling teammates, or save it for critical situations. The game ditches fixed character classes in favour of flexible roles that change based on how players choose to spend their time and coordinate with their squad.

The closed beta features 12 playable characters ranging from a space-suited monkey to a feudal Japanese samurai, alongside three distinct battle zones: the Japanese-themed Yokogawa, medieval Morstadt, and neon-lit Miraesi. Players can test 10 unique weapons designed for high-speed combat whilst experiencing the core three-player competitive mode where teamwork proves essential.

Daily play sessions run for eight hours each day to ensure stable matchmaking, with servers open from 4pm to midnight PDT. The current test focuses on players in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, though Mistil Games has confirmed a global beta test will follow ahead of the full launch later this year on PC and consoles.

Players can download the beta through the Time Takers Steam store page and join the official Discord for community events including the Epic Clips competition and Nitro Invite Challenge.
