The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu Demo Launches During Steam Next Fest

NACON and ACE Team have announced that their upcoming cooperative horror game, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, will be featured at Steam Next Fest this June. PC players can experience the game’s opening hours from 15 to 22 June 2026, offering a taste of what promises to be a genuinely unsettling jungle adventure.

Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horror short story, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu puts players in the boots of treasure hunters venturing into a hostile jungle. The demo supports up to four players in online co-op and includes several mission types, from straightforward treasure hunts to encounters with terrifying creatures that lurk in the shadows.

The game’s structure centres around a galleon that serves as your base of operations. Players select contracts, share equipment, and prepare for expeditions before venturing onto the mysterious continent. Ancient forts scattered throughout the jungle can be discovered and used as forward operating bases, allowing teams to push deeper into increasingly dangerous territory.

What sets The Mound apart is its sanity system. As explorers delve further into the jungle, their grip on reality begins to slip. Visual and auditory hallucinations can cause players to accidentally sabotage their own mission, whilst fallen teammates may return in corrupted forms to turn against their former allies.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is scheduled for release on 15 July 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players interested in trying the demo can find it on Steam during Next Fest from 15-22 June.
